Hi. My Rams had babies...now what should i do? I know different fish handle it differently and sometimes you gotta seperate parents from the young..not sure about rams..and advice is appreciated thanks!
Haha thanks....yeah primus is my favorite band. But yeah it vaccums up pretty easily. Im glad its not harmful. Does this mean im overfeeding? Or not doing big enough water changes? Feed 2 times a day. Some flakes and a couple cichlid gold pellets. Do a weekly water change of 25%
Could it be these diodes or w/e they are called im reading about? I clean all the dirt stuff every water change and it comes back...i dont stir up the substrate or anything...the jd doesnt pick at the wood. Ill try and post a picture of it later when i get out of work
The jack depsey is by himself...its definatly not poop...i have black sand as a substrate...but ive had black sand as the substrate for awhile now and its just recently happening.
I have a 40 gallon breeder with a jack dempsey cichlid in it...every so often i get this stuff that looks like dirt in the tank. It covers the droftwood and plants...the fish seem ok so far but i just wondering if anyone can tell me what it is? I do weekly water changes and try to keep it clean...
Ok ill make sure to move them...they seem to get along fine(for now). I juat read sonewhere they were one of the few types of fish you can put with jack dempseys...apparently not haha. There are 0 aggression issues between them...but jack dempsey isnt fully grown yet still so i can see how that...
I have a marineland canister filter for a 55 gallon tank and even another smaller h.o.b filter going. I try to do a 15-20 % water change once a week. Then on 3rd or 4th week i do a bigger water change.
Would i be better off with african cichlids since they generally dont get as large as south anericans? And will they be ok with a 7.5 ph or is that to low? (my water that comes out the tap is 7.5.) I know i can use stuff to raise the ph but id prefer not to.
Well...i do have other tanks the rams could go in. Jd alone in 40 is to small apparently... petstore had 40 gal as minimum size tank for it so i thought it was ok.
Thanks! Thats what I was sort of leaning towards but definatly good to get the 2nd opinion. You think hell be ok in 40 gallon breeder when hes full size? His tankmates are 3 bolivian rams. I dont plan on putting anything else in there because i know they can get pretty big.
