    Crypts growing quite large.

Thanks for your replies. I’ll take both suggestions to consideration when I’m ready. I think I’ll let this grow a little longer. Perhaps get some rocks to “surround” to try to limit the spreading out. Not sure it will work but I’ll give it a try. I still really love how they turned out...

    Crypts growing quite large.

Thanks. Like I’ve said above, I love how they turned out. Definitely not what I expected. Just gotta figure how best to trim this without totally destroying it. They are a mix of green and bronze.

    Crypts growing quite large.

Thanks. I love how well it’s grown. My fear is that it won’t stop. It’s taken about a 1/3 of the tank now. My worry is that like trimming a bush or tree outside, once I start trimming, it won’t look good then I end up trimming everything. I never had these crypts grow this much before I...

    Crypts growing quite large.

Ever since I finished re-doing my 75g, my crypts have grown way more then I’ve ever seen in my previous tank setups . I’m guessing it’s due to my added lights and the CO2. I like them a lot but they are now “drowning” out on of my swords. They have even engulfed the 3 pieces of driftwood that...

    Auto Top Off Suggestions

My apologies. I need to learn to read. I now see that this for sw. my setup is for fw, which is most likely not suitable for you. I would follow dallascowboys’ advice.

    Auto Top Off Suggestions

My ato fills up about a 20 gallon section of a 49 gallon sump. I don’t use a pump with my ato. Like I said above, I have a solenoid that the ato controls with a line connected directly to my home’s waterline.

    Auto Top Off Suggestions

I use the jbj system that runs a solenoid connected to my water line. But Incase of failure of the solenoid or the controller, I made sure that my sump has an overflow line direct to a floor drain. So far so good since January.

    Looking for that last fish

My 75g houses 12 boeseman rainbowfish, 3 guppies, 8 cherry barbs, 6 albino cories, 6 ottos, and 6 Amano shrimp. That’s as far as I’m willing to go. I consider my rainbow fish as my centerpiece even though they are the ones with the largest population in my tank. I have no intention of adding...

Thanks! I’ll take care of that tonight.

    Ruffled Sword flowered... now what?

So I have 2 ruffled swords that I mentioned in my previous post: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f20/my-in-wall-75-gallon-planted-tank-2-0-a-365623.html The bigger one has flowered and I don't know what I'm supposed to do with it (other than cut it off). Any ideas? I've never had...

Do Certain Corydoras Species School Better?

My albino cories will follow each other at times but mostly they are minding their own business in my 75g. They ignore the rainbows and barbs. When they do follow each other it looks more like coincidence than intended because they split off again after a few seconds.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

I’ve just been maintaining CO2 with a timer and the drop checker. Thanks for the suggestion on the stone. I’ll take a look into it.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Thanks. I’m leaving it for now. I’ve never seen this plant do That a before. But then again I think I’m proving a better environment for them now.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Haha. Yup. It was awkward at first but I got used to it. But now I don’t really need it as much.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Thanks! I haven’t trinmed anything yet. This new iteration of my tank has been running about as you see it for about 3 months. The rotala is the newest about 1 month now. I’m trying to grow them out long just in case I decide to move them. But with my old setup, trimming wasn’t difficult at...

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Thanks! I can’t believe how much my crypts are growing. They melted a bit when I started over but are now bigger than they ever were.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Thanks. I’m glad I don’t have a mouse problem. But with my luck if I did have one, they would get themselves stuck in my drain pipe and my basement would end up getting flooded. So what do I do with that part of the sword that is sticking up out of the water? The sword next to it also has one...

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Thanks. You pretty much nailed it on the head. I’m an engineer in the auto industry so I always try to see what I can do on my own in this hobby. I see what others have done (diy or actual products) and try my own version of it on my tank. As for the rocks, I don’t even know what I want.

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

I posted this in the DIY section of the forum with the details. I’ve done some major updates behind the wall. The link to that post is here: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f20/my-in-wall-75-gallon-planted-tank-2-0-a-365623.html

My in wall 75 gallon planted tank 2.0

Hey everyone, so its been quite a while since I posted. I have a 75g in wall tank that I posted about a few years ago. Here is that post: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f20/my-in-wall-75-gallon-planted-tank-306629.html I have since made some major changes and did a display tank...

    Nerite snail eggs and shrimps

I’ve had nerite snails for a while. Females didn’t start laying eggs until they doubled in size from the time I got them. So it was about a year later. I had 4 at the time so I could never pinpoint which ones where laying eggs. I’ve since brought them back to the lfs. I plan to get more again...

    Fish Tank(s) in Basement

Ah, Royal Oak. Spent many nights there consuming beverages. I didn’t mind the snow. I like winter. My son made quit a bit of many off a neighbor 2 houses over (shoveling) so I don’t think he’s complaining either. Good luck with your project. I wish something like that was left for me as well.

    Fish Tank(s) in Basement

I wish I had room in my basement to do something like that from the beginning. I’m in Ann Arbor. Where are you at?

Can't get water to clear in 65 gal tank...9 months now

+1 for purigen. At one point I had an older canister filter running with just purigen backs to go with my normal filter.

Freshwater fish compatible with Serpae Tetras?

I had 10 serpae tetra before. They were my little piranhas. They killed anything I added to the 55 that I once had.
