Thank you so much for all of your time and advice. I feel more confident to get more fish in the future but now I'm prepared. I'm truly grateful for your help.

    Only new fish dying...

No that was great help thank you. And the fish store I go to tested my parameters and they said they were good. It could be that I did not quarantine. I acclimated them for 2 hours but I guess I'll have to start doing that next. I have to imagine they're not dying because my tank isn't suitable...

    Only new fish dying...

I have a new 40gal tank I switched my fish over into after a month of cycling with 40lbs of cured live rock. The temp and salinity were the same. The fish were happy in there and then I added 4 fish over a weeks time. All of the new fish slowly died one at a time over a month or so. All of the...

Female clown making male turn pale

The female is quarantined in the tank. The male is starting to swim around now. And this has happened before when they were in a small tank and I put the male in the bigger tank first and then her... It seemed to have worked for a long time now.

Female clown making male turn pale

Hi guys, I have had my clowns for over a year and the one is clearly the female (she's bigger, meaner, darker on her back, etc) they went from a 12gal to a 40gal with a slow transition and were fine for about 2 weeks but now she's getting really aggressive and at feeding time she gets nasty and...

    Sumps for dummies

I'm planning on a 29 gal soon and I'm tired of lugging a 5 gal water jug around and mixing water in a bucket... I heard a sump makes it easier to performed PWC but I can't get a grasp on the concept.. Can someone break it down for me?

    Clownfish acting strange

Ahh! That makes sense. My lights only on 8 hours but the room is light before it comes on so maybe he's up too much. He hasn't done it as much later so I'm happy

    My goby's cheek is red?!

He's so cute! And thank you. I wish I knew how to update the info. It changed some

My goby's cheek is bright red

Only one side.. Is it a scratch from shooting under the live rock or the coral banded shrimp? He doesn't go by the torch and is still acting normal and eating.

    My goby's cheek is red?!

Only one side.. He never goes by my torch, maybe it was the shrimp? Or scratching himself when he shoots under my live rock? He is still acting normal and eating. Please help :(

    Clownfish acting strange

Thank you. I guess it's just weird because the white lights are on and it's 6pm (lights go off at 9). I guess I'll just keep an eye on them.

    Clownfish acting strange

He seems to occasionally hover vertically at the top of the tank.. Any ideas? It's only once in a while.

Has anyone else seen this relationship?

This is interesting. My coral banded shrimp pinches at every fish I have... Especially my watchman goby lol

    Does this sponge look okay?

And I'm starting to get little ones all over. This is good right? The big ones a little brownish because of algae I believe.

    Spot on my clownfish..

That makes sense. Thank you! Poor little guy, can i do anything for him? I put some stress reliever in that's supposed to facilitate wound healing.

    Spot on my clownfish..

It looks transparent... Like a lighter spot.. He's a healthy guy but I don't know what this is. The female picks on him a little, but just nudging. No hard bullying. (Top fish)

    Aggressive Coral banded shrimp

I make sure I don't over feed but I leave one extra at the bottom for him or my watchman to eat. I just find it so weird how all the sudden he's not chasing the food down. Oh well.

    Aggressive Coral banded shrimp

He actually used to eat the pellets everyday and go crazy during feeding and then one day I got live brine as a treat (his first experience as he was new) and then when I started feeding the pellets again he started spitting them out. This has me thinking he's being spoiled.
