    Who has fish regret?

Yup. That's why you get more tanks...bigger tanks...more options ;) lol

    Splashing Water Noise

That should be fine unless you get fish that need less current. Like Betta or long flowy fin type. Personally it annoys me but my tank is by the couch and it drowns out the TV if it gets just a little too low.

    driftwood from the river

So I'm thinking about going down to the river to find a nice piece of driftwood for my 75 and possibly some rocks. I know I'd have to scrub and boil it but the problem is Im looking to find a big piece that will probably be to large to boil. Is there another way to prep it without boiling?

    oscar not aggressive at all

Right! All you need is a wayyy bigger tank lol. And they all look the same to me anyway. People come over and they're like omg that fish is huge (my 7 in Oscar) and all I can say haha you don't even know...

Lol well there's always deals on CL! A lot of local breeders post their fish on there for a lot cheeper than stores. Usually Africans though

I'm pretty sure mines a male that may be why. I know the O would not be fast enough to catch any danios. I may try that. He's officially at the slow clumsy stage.

    oscar not aggressive at all

That's all fine and good but my question was never why...it was quite obvious to me the con was more aggressive so I removed him. I wouldn't go so far as to say its like throwing a child in a prison... more like throwing an aggressive fish in with a passive one.

I guess it's always up in the air with cichlids on how they will act. I'd compare my Oscar to a goldfish lol it took three tries to get him to eat a worm because he was scared of them.

I think any other cichlid would be too much for him really. Esp a pair. I've heard they can be as bad as cons.

Ya he's about 7 inches right now. He's my centerpeice but the first go around the con picked on him and one day I came home and all his fins had fell off his scales were starting to and somehow he survived but he looks different now some of his fins kinda fused together when they grew back. Poor...

My plan with my 75 was going to be my Oscar and my convict . It didn't last long while they were the same size the con bullied and stressed the O almost to death so I took the con out for a couple months and just tried again this week and my O is now 3 x the cons size and started the same stuff...

If you could have only one

My Bolivian ram got me into cichlids I never realized fish could have such personality. I don't have a favorite yet though, I haven't owned enough. I do love my Oscar but I'd love to have more cichlids. Frontosa has to be my favorite visually. Would love to have a group of them.

    Additions?

I wouldn't overstock I know a lot of people say its ok as long as your water is kept clean and such, but it's also about their quality of life not just the quality of water. They need room to swim without bumping into one another. I tend to keep my tanks under stocked and my fish are extremely...

    Large tanks in apartments??

I live in an upstairs it sucks! I have so many tanks that I can't set up here so I stick to my 36 & 20 gallons. Def go for the downstairs. I didn't know I'd fall in love with fish when I moved in here I'm currently looking to move pretty much just for the fish lol
