    Dalmation molly breeding?

I forgot to address the size of your separate tank. You could run a standard filter if you put a tank diver between the breeder nets and the filter spout. Thus will allow adequate water flow, all while reducing speed if get a quality divider. I don't have that kind of setup, but it makes sense to me

    Dalmation molly breeding?

I use this Whisper 2-10i when they are young, and keep the water line right underneath the pour ledge to minimalize the water flow speed. Once the fry are just over 1 month old, I replace it with a standard filter, and I turn on the bubble curtain you see with a air pump rated for 5 gal...

    Dalmation molly breeding?

If you have decent light, then put some floating stem plants (moneywort or anacharis can be gotten cheaply) on the surface that can act as a safe haven for the fry. I don't "breed" per se, but I sometimes have Platy/ Molly fry that hide in the plants I have floating on tip of my community tank...

    Plant for a shaded area?

Thank you for the replies, been meaning to update, but I've planted small pieces of windelov java at all the points where the decor stands on the substrate. I will post a picture once the java thickens and doesn't look so wimpy as it does now. Thanks again

    Plant for a shaded area?

I need ideas on what to plant in this area of my 55 gal. Its literally in the middle of my tank that's full of green, but this area just sticks out in a negative way. As you can see, the decor prevents light from racing the entire area. Would dwarf hair grass our a patch of moss be ideal to...

    Stocking 30 gal Cichlid tank

Originally I wanted Lake Malawi peacocks, but due to my limitations I think the apistogrammas seem like the best choice. Problem is, not a lot on sale locally, most of the ones I like are online and that's where I'm iffy.

    Stocking 30 gal Cichlid tank

Hey AA! I've been keeping fish for almost 8 months now and want to take the step of raising cichlids. I originally wanted to start with them, but all the signs told me that was a bad idea. However, I've gotten a strong sense of this aquarist hobby, and now want to take on this stage. I got a...

    New member from DFW, TX

Just joined this site after using it a resource for the past 6 months. I'm a student at UTA, and I bought a 20 gal tank to entertain my 2yr old daughter (who calls fish "shish", hence my handle) and made all the rookie mistakes, but now I've grown understanding and want to entertain myself. I...
