You need mechanical filtration because you dont have enough rock. Try cleaning your canister and pads weekly with RO water, and do 10-20% water changes weekly

Unless you have 1.5-2 lbs per gallon, id keep the filtration you have and add a skimmer. Probably need to clean the canister more often, do larger mpre frequent water changes, feed less to get your nitrates in check.

How often on changes? When I had my 75, with 2 HOBs I was doing 30g every 2 weeks and still had trates above 10

All set up, filled, starting cycle. Ended up with 240# of rock between tank and sump. I cant wait to make this my reef! Total height is 6' 5". Lights hang 10" above the water.

In all fairness if its a house in arizona, more than likely its a concrete floor. Due to Calechi as a soil type, basements are not common and mostly just a concrete foundation is poured to frame the house up.

How many use them? Could I do a dual reactor, Purigen in one chamber, carbon in the other? If so, can I run a small cobalt pump in my return with my return pump? It would be plumbed to go to reactor, then uv sterilizer, then back to return section of sump. Is this doable?

My LFS reccomends reef octopus. Funny because they dont sell them lol. I got a classic NWB 200. Havent used it yet

How important are filter socks? My sump came with bulkheads, but no where to hang a sock or two. If I need them is there a company that makes a holder with suction cups? I see that as my only option to hang them, nothing else will fit over the lip where the bulkheads are.

Id rather do the 3 tangs and leave out the butterfly.

I have a large flat pice of rock going into my 125. I was curious, if it has good light and flow, what are the chances a carpet nem would reside there rather than the sand bed?
