This is my current set-up. 75 gallon african and a 60 gallon South American.

Basically is there any difference between a 75 gallon and a 250 gallon other then the size and volume of water? Obviously the equipment is going to need to handle it. I want to know fully what I'm getting into.

Yea I love how they look when they are fully grown. Discus from what I understand are way to delicate for me. Maybe in the future but for now I would like a big African tank.

Look on Craigslist. I got 120lbs of African cichlid sand for 30 dollars. It's normally 30 dollars for 20lbs each.

I love the specialist. I'll go up to the tank with different Africans cichlids in it and usually want one of the more expensive fish. I'll tell the sales rep I'll have one of the assorted cichlids 4.99 and point to the 25.99 peacock. :) works all the time.

I know. I was listening to everyone doing 50% everyday. I couldn't understand why it wouldn't cycle. I'm not telling you to do this but that's what I did suggested by my LFS (which is on tv). That app is called aquaplannerPro. It's a good app for getting started and keeping track of your stock.
