    I also agree with testing your tap water. Mine is also high, we use well water and have farmland completely surrounding us which contributes to nitrates in the ground water.     I'm Kathy, I can't live without at least one Betta in my kitchen keeping me company. I've always used 2 gallon bowls but have recently decided to try and cycle my first tank!! How exciting and scary ~ I'm sure I'll need lots of help from this great site, so glad I found it!
