They make water changers that hook up to your sink that do work well. I'v thought about getting one but with one a 10 and 20 gallon its not really worth it for me. You can go lookup videos on YouTube.

So I'v had two nerites for about a week and they've been eating non stop! It really is amazing just how much these little guys eat. I did have one apparently burrow since I searched everywhere and couldn't find it only to have it appear a few min later on the gravel.

I had a hood but with my new light plus filter, heater and air tubes I had to break a lot of the tabs out. I'll just make one. One more question... (I'm full if them apparently) Would the shrimp bother a few Nerite snails? I'v got some diatoms and a little algae.

One other question... I have no hood and plenty of things that hang (hob filter, heater, ect..) Do I need to worry about them escaping or will they stay in the tank without a lid/hood?

Only 3 red minor serpae tetras. The tank is about 2/3 cycled. I'm just planning out what I want in advance since I can be indecisive. I don't want to get a fish on a whim that I'll end up no being able to keep.

How much bio-load will that put on the tank? Its got 3 serpae tetras now and my next addition will be three more. This is only a 20 gallon and I would rather have several different types of fish over the different shrimp.

I think Ill go for both and worst case give one set away. Would two each be a good number to start off with?

I'm not against breeding them but I want to have it mostly stocked with fish. Could I have both ghost and cherry red, or is that a bad idea?
