+1 to this, I would also recommend staying away from tiger barbs, they have awesome colors and look great with other fish but they are little nippers. I learnt that fast adding them to my community tank awhile back.
Most annoying thing for me is when my hubby and I bash heads over our fish. It's cool to share your hobby with your loved one.. But at times it gets frustrating.. Especially fighting over where we are going to put our new tank.
Okay, the active ingredient in melafix is melaleuca 1.0%.. So if they don't make melafix there look for something with that ingredient or even a basic slime coat/ stress relief treatment I think would be fine
Sorry to hear about your fish :( happens to the best of us. I recently had the same thing happen to my tank and hubby had to push me back into the hobby. So good for you for getting back out there!! Hope everything is going well :) and good luck with the ropefish we recently got one and we love...
+1 to this! After reading this I went and grabbed my cichlid gold pellets read the back and your right it's complete crap! Off to the fish store I go to buy better food for my fish. Thanks for pointing this out!
Yea of course all the good ones do! Lol, we will eventually be setting up a 250 soon when we move into a house. It's not a right now thing, just something I want to look into for the future!! :)
Hi everyone! Just wondering if anyone has seen a blue eyed pleco around? I first saw one of these in my boyfriends fish index book. I asked my Lfs if they've ever gotten one in and they told me they have never even heard of it.
And by tougher I meant out of the ones you've mentioned without growing to a ridiculous size. (7") ... They have quite a bit to protect them from predators.
striped raphael may be your best bet. Just did alittle look up on them and there a tougher catfish. But according to the info online they mostly come out at night. So not sure if that would work for you.
Exactly which is why I haven't gotten one and I was reading alittle more up on them and found this on a site. "When frightened, these fish have been known to break 1/4" aquarium glass; larger tanks with 1/2" glass should be ok."
