Lighting Recommendation for new FOWLR build

You don't need a light for a fowlr, but there are relatively cheap leds made by taotronics on amazon and similar lights on ebay that you can use. Cost about $150 each.

    metal halide vs led

Kessil leds have more shimmer than a metal halide and leds are much cooler and use less electricity. Personally, I think leds are better.

Yes, par38 bulbs are the best for a nano on a budget. However, if you want to spend more, which you probably don't, there is nano box reef which makes amazing nano led lights.

First time saltwater tank on a budget?

You don't need a skimmer for that. You can just mod an aqua clear filter for a 10 gallon.

    Makes no sense...Help!

Do a water change immediately. I would say maybe a 30 percent water change. Don't follow the assumption that if things look good then you don't need to do anything. Start doing weekly water changes and you should see some improvement. I would say 15 percent or even more weekly for a while.

Innovative marine are very good sip tanks. Many people also recommend pico aquariums, but right now their website is down for the 2014 lineup.

    would you pay it

Are you talking about mr. Cash money clown? He was in one of Thomas Brown's fish store world travel episodes. It is so cool and is a natural clownish that was found in the ocean.

Yeah, it sure is. Surprisingly I got it from petco. I saw it and it looked okay and it didnt look like it was dying, and so I bought it. Best purchase at petco I ever made.

    Fin Rot

He is the only one in the tank. I will change 50 percent of the water every three days and see what happens. Is that a good plan.

    Fin Rot

I just got it a few days ago. The tank b is one gallon with no filter, just a heater. It is an elephant ear betta and I didn't want too much flow in the tank. All my parameters are at zero.
  24. Jolee0722

    Fin Rot

Yes, when I bought it it looked like this. I am still unsure though as it was in a really small bowl.
