    Peppermint shrimp eggs?

I snapped some shots but I'm at work without my camera. The pics aren't very clear but there is definitely something under her tail that she's clutching to. I'm a total newbie to the saltwater game so I'm in need of constant advice. When compared to the other shrimp, they look quite different...

    Peppermint shrimp eggs?

I was spying on my tank last night with the flashlight and noticed that one of my two peppermint shrimp had a red clump under the tail and had her legs wrapped around it. The other one did not look like this. Is she carrying eggs? I've only had my 29g tank setup for a month and a half and got...

Hitchhiker crabs dead/dying? Consequences for other livestoc

Is this a sign of poor water quiality? I tested the other day and everything was normal. NO3 was at 20ppm and everything else at zero. pH at 8.0 I did notice that on my hydrometer, it tested 1.035. I don't know if this is accurate or not. Do I need to add freshwater (Ro/DI of course)? Tank...

    White hair on my glass?

What is this white, hair-like fuzz growing on my glass? It's all over. My 29g has been setup for about 2 months, 45#'s or LR, 3 powerheads, weekly 15% water changes (RO/DI only), Coralife Aqualight which is 2 x 65 watts. 1 clown, 1 firefish, two damsels (blue and 4 stripe), and 2 peppermint...

Sea urchin hitchhiker, good or bad?

He came with my liverock from LR.com, which looks great (29 gallon with 15 #'s of gulf, 15#'s of keys and 10#'s base). My question is whether or not the sea urchin should be removed or left in the tank. I heard that they will eat the coraline algae. I don't want that because it looks really...

    Test Kit?

I just started my 29 with 40# of LR from liverocks.com (awesome rock BTW). I don't have a test kit yet. Which one would you recommend to cover all parameters? Do I have to purchase several different kits or is there a kit that has all tests (phosphates and calcium included). Thanks
