    Hi everyone- I'm new here

Just an FYI...to properly cycle a tank, it takes approximately 7 weeks if starting off with a new filter. If you have an established filter, and are moving the filter and media over to the new tank, you should not lose your cycle. If anything, maybe do an extra water change. A lot of people...

    Betta fish tank setup tips?

Any heater will do...i've had cheaper Aqueons, more expensive Eheims that always had to be calibrated and were always off a few degrees compared to what they were set for and i also had some kind of expensive titanium heater that worked well, but not any better than my cheap Aqueon. So, that...

Too many issues with water flow and covers popping off and hard to clean. Canisters have trays which are a breeze to separate and rinse. Also, I clean mine every 6 to 8 weeks. Also (knock on wood!), I've never had a canister leak.

That's one of the reasons I do not like aqua clear filters. Go with a small canister....you will not be disappointed! I use all canisters with a marineland empereror 400 hang on the back....just in case the canister ever fails.

Please tell me what I could be doing wrong with this cycling process?

Also, fish really should be fed everyday. We eat every day, so should they. Once your tank is cycled, they'll be no need to do water changes after every feeding. Once a week should be fine.
