    Thanksgiving meal for our fish?

So Thanksgiving is in a few days and I would like to "serve" a nice meal for the fish in my aquarium. Perhaps, something of delicacy that they never had before. I have a variety of community with several semi-aggressive fish as well as shrimps in my tank and I would like to give them something...

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

It's a cute little tank, it came with a bunch of aquarium stuff but I'm thinking it was left in the persons garage where they accidentally spilled something and didn't want to deal with it.

Of course unscented and pure. I may give this try if I hint any smell of that fluid. Thanks for all your help :)

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

The spill is on the inside. What kind of bleach are we talking about? For instance, Clorox? If so, do I need to mix it with water or just pour some in? I will disregard the fish soap because I've heard too many fright stories so I don't want to go that route

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

Wouldn't bleach make it worst considering its not recommended? And I probably wouldn't be able smell that oily fluid since vinegar would camouflage the smell even if there was any trace of the fluid left.

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

I wiped down the excess spill and filled the tank with white vinegar. Until then, please provide helpful answers based on question. Thanks!

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

It's like a small 5 gallon long. It is a fish tank but it's not like strong acrylic. I figured liquids would melt through "plastic" or something unless glass that's why I mentioned what it's made of.

    Suggestions for additional fish

Blue rams can be aggressive but I think it depends on the tankmates. Careful on the dwarf gourami. I have a sunburst gourami and he usually goes after my blue ram and balloon molly. In an experiment I put the gourami in a net and the other fish showed better signs of health. So, I will be giving...

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

I would acrylic is harder than plastic and this tank feels a bit flimsy so my guess is plastic. Spill is inside the tank, but worth a try if anyone does have an idea

Found free fish tank on side of road. Need advice!!

So I found this cool fish tank on the side of road. It is plastic not glass and when I was taking accessories out of the tank, I noticed some spillage of something like oil/gas. I can't make out the smell but it does smell like some kind of chemical fluid. Is there any way I can properly clean...

    Sexing my blue ram please

If males do not have red on the belly, then mine is possibly a male or could it be a very faded red color on the tummy due to possible stress and no companion?

You are speaking of the male correct?

    Sexing my blue ram please

So a male usually has a red tummy, short dorsal spikes and no blue in the black spot?

    Sexing my blue ram please

Lol I trust you. Your username says it all. So if I go to find a male, I'm looking for short fins and a pure black spot (no blue dots) on the side? I heard its hard to sex them when they are young, so would I be able to sex them even when they are young or the characteristics just may not show?

    Sexing my blue ram please

So far I've received one reliable opinion on sexing my blue ram. Any more breeders or fishkeepers with experience on sexing blue rams?

    Sexing my blue ram please

Also not to mention my fish had some front spikes of dorsal fin torn so it's hard to make an exact determination. I think I have a pretty good idea. Thanks a lot!

    Sexing my blue ram please

Very well sir! Also, should i look out for a blue ram with a plain black spot (no blue dots in the black spot) as a way to sex it as a male? Or no?

Which fin is considered long fin for the female? The back end of the dorsal fin?

    Sexing my blue ram please

IMO I would add the gourami first into your tank and wait a few weeks before adding a blue ram. I think it's better so the ram doesn't get territorial if you add a gourami after. You should try getting a male and female blue ram. How long have you had your tank running? How many gallons?

    Sexing my blue ram please

Are you saying I have a female?

    Sexing my blue ram please

I've had mine for a few weeks with no real progress in color. I would expect bringing an opposite sex into tank would help. To be honest with you, the minute I put the blue ram into the tank, he followed the dwarf gourami like it was a king. I do not lie and they have no trouble with each...

    Sexing my blue ram please

Tank mates are 1 dwarf gourami, 3 Cory cats, 1 balloon Molly, 3 chameleon shrimp and 4 ghost shrimp. It didn't much color when I bought the fish but when the lights off, it doesn't look as pale as in pics with light on. I feed it frozen bloodworms and recently added shrimp pellets and algae...
