Nothing different, everything fabulous. No more issues with dying snails, all is well. A couple of partial water changes since last login and nothing new to report :)

    My new 55g

Wow, I had to practically start all over on this tank. I realized I was under feeding it ammonia and was getting NO readings every day with only 3ml added! So... November 25 ---> added 25ml pure household ammonia @ 8:30pm November 26 ---> added 18ml pure household ammonia @ 8:00pm November 27...

Lol! November 30 @ 8:30am Bert and Ernie are so funny! I started feeding them with a little teeny tiny spoon and now when I unplug the powerhead they already know they are getting fed and come to the one top right corner!! Whenever I put my tongs or anything in the tank they are right at it...

Using an aquarium 1 bulb T8 fixture and use power glo bulb for 8 hours then change to marine actinic for 2-4 hours. I think it should be fine for the little 10 gallon tank (11 inch deep water). I can put the zoas/palys right on the top rocks. My mushroom/spongey thingy is hanging in there with...

    Is this possible?

I just started in saltwater too. In a 10 gallon. Fish only with live rock right now and doing good. It has two clownfish and a small cleanup crew of 5 hermit crabs, 2 peppermint shrimp and about 4 snails or so... I have a small 50 watt heater, a HOB filter (for a 20 gallon tank), a 110gph...

    My 10g Nano

Gratz on getting the tank cycled :) I would go ahead and do the 20% water change prior to acclimating anything and adding it to the tank, just to be safer. Tank is looking a lot like mine with the brown ugly diatoms covering it! I just added my own CuC on Friday so you really are right behind me :)

I don't know. I actually watched him come out and flip a snail over and start pulling at it. I shooed him away with my tongs and flipped the snail back over! Soon as I pulled the tongs out of the tank, that shrimp came out and flipped the shell back over and started pulling at the snail...

Today: sg: 1.024 temp: 78F ammonia 0 nitrites 0 nitrates 5-10 did a small 10% pwc and will check again in an hour or so to make sure the nitrates are less than 0. I am planning on waiting 2 weeks to a month (hopefully CuC has done it's job by then) until the diatoms are cleared up (or died off)...

    Ro Water mix?

You could just get a very large rubbermaid bin to store your water in. Then you won't have buckets and buckets and jugs and jugs lying around :) RO/DI is the best way to go for sure, specially IF you already have a system. Good Luck! :)

    help please

I have a standard 10 gallon tank set up with an HOB API superclean 5-20 filter and a maxijet 400 powerhead. I believe even small tanks need a powerhead for good water flow and filtration :) I don't run a skimmer on mine, I just do weekly water changes and make sure my powerhead is pointed at the...

Do scissor tails usually hide when introduced to a new tank???

Yes and yes. Mine began as a light smattering of dust looking cover. It is now very dark, covers my sand, rocks and now creeping on the glass. I am going to get some snails tonight .... time to introduce a good portion of my CuC :)
