These are growing out of my live rock. Not sure what they are nor what family they are. Can someone shed some light on it for me?

I have a programmable 36" 234W 6x39 fluorescent Actinic T5 HO. Six bulb 3 HO white, 3 actinic blue, 6 moonlight LEDs. It is programmed to keep moonlight from 7pm to 7am, 7am-1000 it is twilight, 1000-5pm high setting with all 6 lights on, then 5pm-7pm it is twilight again.

Awesome! I wanted to go coral eventually, but thought I would need my tank set up for about 6 months or so before I bought any.. Guess I need to figure out how to take care of them now.. LOL

This may be a silly question, but what does LPS stand for?

My tank has only been up about two months. Didn't think they would grow on their own... Cool now I gotta figure out how to take care of them.

So can anyone tell me what these are? They have started growing out of my live Rock. One is a purple bulb of some kind, while the other is Snow White and has little fingers sticking off the rim at the tip all the way around.

also have some REALLY small, looks like little bitty shrimp.... they good too? I am thinking about getting a wrasse, to control all these little critters I am seeing.....

My cycle test gave the following results Ph 8.4 Ammonia 1.0 Nitrite .5 Nitrate 40 ppm now I have no idea what all that means other than I am surprised the snails are still alive. I very much appreciate all of the advice you all have given me.

kinda surprised any critters can survive in there right now as high as my Ammonia and Nitrite are right now.

other hitch hiker are these fire worms? and if they are should I get a shrimp or something to clean them up? I don't have any fish yet, I am just cycling right now.

Bought some live rock and now I am seeing a bunch of small white tubes with two small white (looks like string) tentacles coming out of them. Can anyone tell me if they are bad for my tank?

How long does it take to seed dry rock? How strong does the power heads need to be to support it?

ok there are about 20 different types that are LED and 120w.... ... whites with blue, and blue, with red,green,white, and a bunch of others.... what would be better? Wow there are a bunch of different lights.......
