It's a 55 gallon with a 10 gallon sump.
I have:
1 Tire track eel. (Yes. I know he will outgrow the tank.)
1 Albino giant danio
6 Green tiger barbs
1 Rainbow shark
1 Columbian shark
My tank has been set up for about a year and the oldest fish previously in a different tank is the columbian...
Recently I've noticed my albino giant danio is turning orange. He is flashing up against plants constantly and picking on other fish. My other fish, 6 green tiger barbs and a columbian shark are also flashing. The tiger barb's fins are already orange which makes it hard to tell if the orange...
Here is the difference between fish and eels. Fish are pretty straight forward. Literally. The don't twist and turn like an eel does. I've heard eels are concerned with the environment and not so much size of the tank.
Also there are 2 types of tire track eels. Favus and Armatus.
The Favus (what I have) grows no more than 19 inches in captivity.
The Armatus is quite a bit larger.
Neel the eel is about 7/8 inches long right now. I'm feeding him about one baiting worm every day.
You don't think the cichlid will eat the danio but not the barbs? My danio is quite a bit bigger than my green barbs.
I really like this eel. Could I get rid of him when he gets larger. I mean...
More of the barbs would actually look pretty good in my tank. I'm not sure what to do about the eel. At what point does a fish become "to large for an aquarium"?
My 55 gallon aquarium seems a bit over kill for the size of fish i have in it. Well all but one...
I have 3 Green Tiger barbs, 1 Albino Danio and a Rainbow Shark that all grow no more than a couple inches. And then a Tire Track Eel that grows over 2 feet. My other fish seem way too small for...
I just got done making a PVC overflow. ( http://youtu.be/66Rr2SQv-cc )The overflow makes a lot more noise than I would like. The most annoying one is in the actual sump itself. The outflow tube from the overflow seems to carry bubbles along with the water causing it to gurgle into the sump under...
