Well we can't really return her because its already been a month. But my brother is planning on getting 2 more silver fins in a 80 gallon tank so they have room. My brother has had them before just not with real plants.

Personally for me I would have got a mesh cage. The only reason to why is because the female will get very stressed in a small space and she can see the others on the out side. Many people have dried a breeders box and came back to check on their fish and it died from the stress.

How would he be able to know if he has to much salt in it or to not enough. Because my brother isn't really into fish except the sharks I don't think he'll go for any other fish.

Oh ya and it depends in how big her belly is. Their usually pregnant for 29 days but because there's no male in the tank expect maybe 3-10 unless she gets really big then exspect 10-30 out of her.

Those are some of the symptoms of dropsy but there's a good chance that its not I would use the other suggestions but keep a close eye on him. If he's not swimming as much and his scales start to pop out you might want to look into it.

What I do with my fry is feed it reef veggie pellets. There small and easy for then to eat. But you want more variety so I crunch up flakes for the fry. Although don't make it to big, or the fry will not eat. I've been told to feed them about 3 times a day. :fish2:

Well what I did when I had the same problem as you I went and got a algee eater. it depends on the size of your tank. So if you have a 40G tank you should get 2.

Well they`re most likely to be chasing each other around. Although if you do see the female getting bigger then she could have eggs. Warning though if the female does have eggs separate her and the male from them because any egg they find they will eat.
