I'm setting up a high light/CO2 planted tank and I thought I'd share my project with you all every step of the way! So far I got a tank with a double t5 36 inch light from my buddy and I have layed out some Carib sea flora max.
That's the tank so far it's 21 inches high so what would you guys...
Hey guys I was thinking of setting up a tank with dwarf cichlids in it. What kind of setup do these guys need? How much space do they each need? And what tank mates are suitable for them? I was thinking putting some rams and apistos together. Thanks in advance :)
And what about plants will they...
So I'm picking up a new 110 gallon tank from a buddy on Friday and I'm trying to decide on what animals and plants I want so shoot out any ideas you guys have :)
I had a few young neons that got the disease and showed the white spots. I flushed them but can I be sure that it will not be contracted by my other fish? The reason I'm asking is because now any time my fish act funny I panic thinking it's the disease!
Okay so I think I've determined it to be neon tetra disease. I flushed the first fish and another one that got the same white spot after so hopefully the problem is gone. Time to go pick up a few more tetras :(
Okay so I put the glass cats in last night and they seem to be doing amazing! They like to school out of sight under a piece of driftwood and are so cool to watch! I fed them some black larvae last night when I first got them (I was excited and couldn't wait till feeding time to see them in...
But aside from upgrading filtration or adding live plants water changes are the best way to remove wastes. the only thing I do for it is add RO water from the store In my water changes because our well water is high in carbonates and it works very well
It's 12:30 on a Friday nogh and I'm drunk but I'd say live plants use a lot of waste and using a filter that has the capacity for bio filtration like a canister filter or the filter I use which is a aqua clear 30 in a 20gallon planted and I never have nitrates present in high levels
Yea I figured it wasn't a huge issue but I can't help but be curious. We actually drink RO water from cooler because our well water on our farm has too much fluoride to drink so I'll just use that in my top offs :). Thanks for your help kind sir!
