    My Angel died.. My fault?

I noticed my angel seemed to enjoy the bubbles as well. He would swim in and out of the and hang out some behind the curtain as well. I'll get a gang valve as my pump recommends to be able to control the intensity of the bubbles. I don't know how else to control any output from the filter...

    My Angel died.. My fault?

Yea.. And the clerk said we had 15 days for a refund or to exchange... But I'm pregnant and they say there is this crazy thing called "pregnancy brain" that makes you dumb from time to time. He's already been disposed of :(. Oh well. He was only a $5 fish but I liked him.

    My Angel died.. My fault?

The tank has been set up a few years and completed a full cycle between the last stock of fish and this new stock. And when i say full cycle i mean i did a 90% water change, a decent substrate syphoning but used one of the old filters from the previous set up. I tested the water before adding...

    My Angel died.. My fault?

He was just fine a few hours ago. When I pulled him out of the tank I checked him for signs of illness or damage. He looked healthy except that he was definitely belly up and dead. 50g Tank mates: 2 dwarf gourami's 7 neons I did a water test using my strips and here were the results...

    Torn/tattered betta fins

I sure it's been asked before... So bare with me. I was planning to put this guy in my 50g community but he was showing aggression towards the other fish. So he's in his own little bowl.. You know the boring just plain betta bowls that hold maybe 2-3 cups of water. It's temporary until I...

    Share Your Mistakes Here

Ooh the number of mistakes I've made! And some messes I've cleane up from others mistakes when I barely knew more than they did. - Cycle? What's a cycle?!? - testing water? (I must have known at some point because I found my testers under my tank.. After I already bought more test...

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

About 48 hours. I don't know how long they were together at the fish store. I think you might be right though, I've noticed within the last hour they've grouped up. 6 in a school and 1 sort of hanging alone for a minute. They split from time to time but mostly they are schooled. I'll keep...

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

I know it may not be the same. But what about 5-6 Mollies? How do they do with Angels? My hubby thinks rainbows are boring and we're trying to come to a compromise.

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

Thanks! I really appreciate your help. I saw the thread last night about betas with gourami and it seems hit or miss... :/. I'm for sure going to add another angel. My husband things rainbows are ugly haha so he'll take some convincing but he'll survive ;)

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

I'll look into the rainbows. I slipped the beta back in for a few seconds and he scared the tetras enough to school them - I got a chance to count and I luckily still have 7. He immediately didnt like the gourami as I expected. So like I said, I'll look into the rainbows. Or see if any LFS...

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

Ok. We turned the bubble curtain back on (it was off because it turns out I DON'T have the gang valve to control the amount and intensity of the bubbles) They have schooled up a little bit from the bubbles but now it just makes them hang out closer together and easier to find to be picked on...

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

Oh, also, they were schooled a d peaceful when I had my beta in the tank. However, the beta was showing aggression towards the flame dwarf gourami so I pulled him out and he's now sitting in his own beta bowl.

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

The current angel is very smaller. Definitely less than 2 inches. We were going to consider putting in a second Angel anyways but I haven't seen one in the LFSs that I was willing to pay for. :). And yes, it is relatively heavily planted (all silk). The plants reach about halfway up the tank...

HELP!! I have aggressive neon tetras!!

We bought 7 neon tetras to go in our 50gal community tank. Aside from the neons we have 2 dwarf gourami's and an angel. The neons schooled the first day in the tank but I've noticed lately they're spread out all over and are actually avoiding each other. All 7 have torn fins and a few of them...

what can go with a betta?

Thanks, It seemed as if he was fighting the current form the filter and it tired him out. the first time he flared up at the Flame Dwarf G, i thought it might have been a territorial thing. Then he did it again in another area of the tank and I was disappointed. I hate that we've already...

what can go with a betta?

I was going to make a new thread and ask a very similar question. We have a 50g tank and have recently finished the cycle. Right now, there are 7 neon tetras, 2 dwarf gouramis (1 neon blue, 1 flame both male) and an angel. All fish are relatively small, less than 2 inches. We let everyone...

Best airpump for a 50gal FW?

Our second hand air pump finally gave out and the tubing deteriorated. We're in the market for something new but I want to make sure we get good quality air lines and pump. We're looking for something quiet and durable where the amount of bubbles can be controlled. What do you all recommend...

    Introduction and stocking question :)

Hi all! I'm new to the thread but I've been around freshwater tanks my whole life. However, my experience level is still pretty low. Typically while growing up my sister took care of the tank but there was little to no siphoning, and absolutely no water testing. I've had a 50g long tank...
