Good advice, if I was to go for the Peacocks what would be a good mix and are there any general rules I should adhere to?

Thanks Mogurako, The rocks go down to the glass and I have a soft plastic layer in between. Well with the Hydor heater if you get the 200w you can get them with the 12mm connectors but the 300w I could only find 16mm. The reducers are cheap on Ebay from the UK. I tried heating up the 12mm hose...

is it just a yellow tinge they have or a more solid colour? if its a more solid yellow the redempress is cheating on its partner :(

i have had no problems with Java fern, nearly any type fo anubias. + the val as you have mentioned. However this mean keeping the lights on for a little too much each day which leads to some algae. I just use silk fakes.

thanks for the comments :D in regards to the water not being level. well the sides are curved the the whole front and sides are one peice, i measured it up and one side is about 2cm taller. im just going to adjust the hood brackets soon and everything should be sweet. and then i need to decide...

ive seen cichlids come from tanks with 7.0 ph once i eased them onto a higher ph they sprung to life, both in thier movement and thier colours.

nitrite was at 0.1 and nitrate at 2ppm i added some water from my other tank and put a sponge from my other filter in the sump to help it out. i thought it would take long too, but ive done it with a few smaller tanks in the same time and ive never had an issue, i moniter everyday for the first...
