I have coraline algae where I don't want it

Scrape it off with a razor if your tank is made of glass. You can buy one in your lfs and it's pretty easy to get the coralline algae off. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Can I add damsels?

I know, I've heard about their bad reputation. I'm just trying to find some cheap fish that can get along with a clownfish :( I've tried a coral beauty and a carpenter wrasse, but it didn't turn out too good Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Can I add damsels?

Hi, so I've had a lot of trouble with my fish over the past year, and I'm think about just adding damsels to my tank instead of other fishes. My tank is 65 gallons with about 55lbs of live rock. I have one ocellaris clownfish and one sea urchin, along with 6 nassarius snails. Do you think...

    New Feather Duster Dead?

Hi, I just got a feather duster 3 days ago. It has not opened once. I felt the tube, and it doesn't feel like there is anything in there. I drip acclimated it for an hour and 15 minutes, and the current tank inhabitants in my 65 gallon tank are a Midas Blenny, an ocellaris clownfish, one skunk...

    Feather Dusters

Hi, I'm going to get a Hawaiian Feather Duster next week, and I was wondering what do they eat? The only filter feeder food I have are Rotifers. Should I also buy some other type of food? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Urchin question

Pincushions are awesome and easy to care for. They need great water quality and will lose their spines if the water isn't. They eat coralline algae and other algae, but if you don't have enough of it, you can feed them nori. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Fish always dying!!!

I'll check my alkalinity every day and add a buffer when needed. P.S I got an urchin after testing my water (all the test came out great including my alk and calcium) and so far it's doing great, eating all my coralline algae. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Fish always dying!!!

I never added a buffer for alkalinity, just pH. I'm just really confused how it could have gone up so much with just a 30% water change when my pH remained the same???? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Fish always dying!!!

Question: yesterday at my lfs, a woman tested my water and told me it came out as 2 dKH. She told me that's why my fish have been dying. I just did a water change, and I tested my water afterwords. It came out as 9 dKH. Is this just because I did a water change, and my KH went up? How does KH...

Would a temperature difference of two-three degrees when I change water be bad? When I do a water change, my tank drops from 79 to 77 degrees Fahrenheit Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Fish always dying!!!

I've gotten the ocean water from 5 different fish stores, I just switched to a new store like two months ago because of convenience. Yup I test, salinity is 1.025. The store that I buy my saltwater from are able to keep sea horses, corals, and fish and they use the same water, so is that ruled...

    Fish always dying!!!

I'm gonna do a 30% water change today. I also added 3 1/2 lbs of live rock for more hiding places. My lfs tested my water just so I can be sure I'm reading the colors right, and they got the same exact results as me. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

Yeah captive bred ocellaris clown. If my pH levels are stable (7.8 at night, 8.0 during the day), can we rule out calcium? Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Fish always dying!!!

If it was disease or chemicals, do you think my clown would also be dead? I don't have a calcium testing kit, I'll bring some water to test to my lfs. Should I test for akilinity? Idk if this makes a difference, but the only thing I add to my water is a buffer, I don't add any magnesium or...
