    All fish need water changes the gravel/ sand needs vacuuming and atleast 25% water changes for most tanks every week it doesn't take more then half hour to do on a 5ft tank it's really not hard

    Shell dwellers might be more suitable for you as they are small but you would have to make sure they have sand not gravel and ovs plenty of shells they are quite sensitive to water changes ph needs to be about 8-8.3 and dh 10-20 filtration is very important as they are so sensitive to water...

    They are really hard to tell the males have longer fins and are more pointed where the female has short rounded fins it is very hard to tell when they are small

    I've never heard of a fire fish.. The others are all great I recommend you do an all male tank have one of each of the ones you listed then you won't have males fighting over females and males have the best colors

    Well peacocks get to about 5inchs you could possibly get 5 adult in there unless you were to rehome or upgrade when bigger google search them and see what you like :)

    You could try peacocks they are extremely colorful many to pick from but they will prob still ruin your plants

    Most of those cichlids like rocks and sand they will destroy your plants digging. I'm really not sure maybe someone else can help. A red jewel might be alright.
