I would say it is three to four years old. It is the Seachem Flourite substrate. I do a decent job of vacuuming the top layer, but since it is planted I can't go much deeper.

My blind German Blue Ram passed away this morning. The last two weeks she stopped eating and the last few days started to get bloated. I just pray she did not die in pain. She did put up an amazing fight though for 8 months. Buried her next to her mate.

I always do 4 weeks. Some diseases take 2 weeks to incubate so anything less than that would be a risk to your main tank.

It is possible you have one female, but only one. Everyone is colored nicely, except one of your GBR's who is showing the stress bars. One thing that I will point out, is I can tell some of the fish are getting restless with the other GBR's. This goes back to me saying you might have too many...

Always glad to see that. I can see he is really, really stressed out though. When GBR's get stressed, they show what is called "stress bars." Essentially two black bars appear on their body, and their head turns black, along with their eyes. This is usually a sign something is wrong.

The rule of thumb is one male per 20 gallons, FYI. So be on the lookout for aggressive behavior.
