    Question about lunar LED's

I just cycled my planted tank and added some fish in there (neon tetras, harlequin rasboras, and otto cats) Should I leave these on all night or should I leave them on for a brief period of...

Too much light for planted aquarium?

Not sure if those lights are too much. Those should be okay but I heard 6700k light bulbs are best for plants since they mimic sunlight. Recently I bought a 29 gallon also and just got done cycling. My lighting is...well I would say alot. I have a quad t5 lights, each 6700k, 24 watts each bulb...

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

Just checked my water and my nitrite levels are .25 ppm!! My nitrates are still around 10-20 ppm which is kind of weird. Maybe the plants in my tank are using them? But yeah I am going to redose ammonia maybe later tonight and see if both ammonia and nitrite are at 0. I am really close!!

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

To gilpi, I think because of the water changes, high levels of ammonia, nitrite or nitrate can slow or even stall a cycling process down (based on others) Just didn't want to risk waiting all this time, finding out that my cycle stalled because of high levels of either one of them.

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

Alright guys... So..after my huge water change yesterday, had 0 levels of ammonia, nitrite, and nitrate. Then dosed up to 4 ppm ammonia and waited until now to check. My readings are: 0 ppm ammonia, 5+ nitrite, and 10-20 ppm nitrate. Was hoping to see nitrite levels to be 0 ppm also but it is...

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

Hey guys, So as of right now I am doing a HUGE water change (>90%) so I can get my nitrite levels to 0 and my nitrate levels around 20 ppm. I'm going to dose it to around 4 ppm ammonia and going to check the next day if both ammonia and nitrite is 0. (Really hope it does!!) Yesterday I also...

Thanks for the reply gilpi! Yeah I found out that I shouldn't really add Flourish as of yet since my substrate is pretty rich in nutrients (Floramax). I just hope this brown algae goes away soon..It's making my tank bad lol Thanks for the tip Cali! This is very exciting news. I'll definitely...

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

What a great tank xsryman! That sand looks awesome. I was debating if I should use sand in my aquarium. But decided to go with gravel (Floramax) since I am more familiar with them. Your approach sounds very logical. I think I should also dose my ammonia every other day like you, but hopefully I...

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

Thanks for your reply xsryman! Yeah it's very frustrating seeing that there's so many options you should/should not do during a fishless cycling. But yes I will definitely keep posting on what I will do from now until I am cycled! To start of this morning, I did a 75%-80% water change. I have...

    Fishless Cycling Help Please!!

Thank you so much for the replies! I agree that it might be too fast but I did somewhat "seed" the tank by putting few pieces of seachem matrix rocks from my older tank into the filter of my 29 gallon. I just wasn't too sure if I should do water changes or not because I read on other forums...
