¿Black on leaves, doesn't wipe off?

The light cycle posted above is a good solution. Just tear the leaves with the black on them off and new ones will grow. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Salt v Fresh

Salts definitely more expensive which is partly why I haven't gotten into that part of the hobby. I'd be way more upset if my $400 fish died instead of my $5 fish ? my main reason for liking fresh more is I like the look of a planted tank way more than any reef tank I've seen. Sent from my...

    Low light carpet?

I think you are thinking of the wrong plant. Dwarf sag easily carpets with minimal light. You just trim it and it spreads horizontally instead of vertically. I've done it many times. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    fishless cycle question

Don't do a water change until all that is left is nitrates. Your readings should be ammonia 0 nitrite 0 and nitrate some really high number. And you would do the water change (100%) right before you put fish in. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    would like your opinion...

A c-360 is plenty for a 55G. I haven't used this filter, but my guess for the cloudiness is maybe you didn't rinse the gravel or internal parts of the filter. If you didn't, I would do 3-4 100% water changes so it gets rinsed. Since you are only two days into the cycle, it really won't make a...

    Aquariumfish.net?

I've ordered from aquarium fish.net twice. They are very good to work with and both times they through in an extra fish for free. I'd recommend them. I've bought a honeycomb catfish, GBR, spotted blue eyes, and dwarf gouramis. All showed up alive and looked really healthy. Sent from my...

    Airstone and plants?

Sorry, but that is wrong... I've researched that subject and it releases more than it would add co2 to the water. Co2 just tries to escape. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    30G Dirted Rescape

Got tired of my old layout and decided to ditch the Eco complete and go with dirt. I'm open to criticism, just remember I left room for growth in the new rescape! Should be as heavily planted as my old one in a month or so. Before After Also, the mass of water sprite floating is there for...

Light for 30g High tech tank

Only add the second light if you plan on using pressurized co2. Otherwise stick with just the one light. You will have terrible algae problems. I have the same setup in my 30G and when I ran out of co2 once it got bad real quick. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Airstone and plants?

That's fine. Just remember, if you aren't putting co2 in the water your main source is what your plants are producing at night. So you are getting rid of any co2 they would be producing. If you look at a chart of co2 levels, when the lights go out the co2 levels get about 4x what they were at...

How Quickly can I safely change ph using CO2

Just set it to 7.0 and you'll be fine. It can only put as much co2 in as you allow. So just set the bubble counter to around 2bps. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Some Kind of Algae?

I have that in my 75. Not sure what the name of it is, but it usually gets bad when I overfeed or dose too many ferts. I just wipe it off and do a big water change and it goes away. Sent from my iPhone using Aquarium Advice

    Airstone and plants?

I wouldn't, to be honest I wouldn't even use an airstone in a planted tank. It lets whatever small amount of co2 you have in your tank escape. No plant uses oxygen to grow, only co2. They use oxygen at night, but it isn't really important.

    The Unbeatable Fog

Its gotta be the substrate. I use RO/DI and nothing I add to condition it makes it cloudy. Its crystal clear. With your uv and purigen. The only solution is the substrate. Make sure you are rinsing the pads in your filter too, otherwise it will just dump the cloud right back in your tank.
