When do they color up? Some at the lfs are black striped (taiwans) and they are about 3 inches long and have no color. Just silver with black stripes. The blue ahli is the same size with absolutely no blue. Is it because they are young or gender.

Anyone in Texas or the southwest know of a good place that delivers fish? Or if you know of a nationwide store that does delivery which would you suggest? Thank you in advance, Douglas

What's your experience been? Which cichlids do you think do well in groups? Which are just too violent to group with either there own species or other species? I know that I had a tough time with demasoni in a group regardless of how much space I had provided or the thickness of the school.

Will placing stones in my new tank lower the temp of the water considerably? Especially stones that have sat upon the floor in winter?

I will try to keep this short... I bought a Biocube and know nothing about salt water tanks. However, I figure you have to start somewhere and the tank is a good start. So I intend on learning one step at a time. What mistakes did you make getting started? What mistakes have you seen people make?

I don't like traditional pet store gravel and sand is almost too loose, so what would be a good medium? Can agranite (sp?) work in fresh water?
