I have a pleco that I have added to my tank but I was told he was a common but he doesn't look like the other common pleco in my tank. He has red patchy spots on his sides and he has red tipped fins. Can anybody please help identify or give me a general idea of what he might be?

The only thing I eve had a success with at petco or pets mart are my plecos. But they sold me 2 commons and one isn't a common.this is the one that isn't a common. I can't figure out what he is. Any ideas?
