Yes, that is the same thing I was thinking. But I guess hindsight is 20/20and a lesson learned.

I bought a used mag 5 to use as an external pump. After I plumbed it it started leaking from the housing front. I noticed that there was one of the screw cases cracked when I took it apart. Has anyone had a problem with mag drives leaking externally?

I have a six lined wrasse, a bta, various corals, and other inverts like hermit crabs and snails. I have about 50lbs of lr. It is not worms. It is most definietly slime. Chris

If you are looking for coraline algae on your rocks I did my own. I had them in a rubbermaid tub with about 60watts of lights on. I supplemented calcium and it took about 6 weeks before I saw a fair amount of coraline growing.

I have this white slimey stuff in my tank and it is an eyesore. Does anyone know what it is? I was wondering does anyone else have this problem? And how can I get rid of it? pH is 8 and all perameters are 0ppm. thanks

Thanks steve. If I want to rid my tank of all possible parasites should I QT the wrasse when I get it up and cycled? So that the tank has a good 6weeks to allow all prasites to come and go through theircycles?

The turbos died before I even had the tang. I just got some more from some LR and they died as well. We are talking maybe 6snails total. My other snails are fine. I have some cerith snails, a conch, and some various other snails. Could the hermits be eating them?

Hi, I have had several turbo snails that I have gotten from a friend and that came on liverock but they all keep dying. I have some other species of snails in my tank that are doing just fine. I was just wonder what would cause a turbo snail to just die? I also have blue legged hermit crabs.
