    Swordtails menfolk

Does anyone have experince with large groups of male swordtails? Ive seen similar questions, but this might have a twist, n that they would be with cental cichlids. Im wondering would they be chill with no females present if there were say 5 or 6. Other fish would include rainbow and possibly...

    Rainbow cichlid numbers

I occasionally use aqadvisor for tank size stuff. Ive been considering rainbow cichlids, but it says they need to be in groups of 8. Is it completely crazy or am I?

I have been thinking of converting a 55 g with resonably hard water to a cochlid tank. It has other things n it currently, but when it converts only the 2 bristle noses will be in there. So here is the thing, i want colorful cichlids that wont harm the plecs, but i keep getting diiferent...

    Plecos in the garden

For all those who refer to friendly plecs and goldfish as "poop machines", i have found that when cleaning my big tank i can take some of that detritus and old aquarium water and feed my flowers in the yard. It offers high quality fertilizer and declorinated water. Its of much higher quality...

    Danger barbs

Looking for possible tankmates in a 55 g tank, sand substrate. Current population is 5 gold barbs and 2 bn plecos plus kuhli loaches. Those guys all get along together so far, but gold barbs are far from peaceful. They dont seem to have readtheir description. They have killed before:hide:
