    New Anemone

his bottom half (the base) was split into two pieces (looked almost like a clean slice as though cut with a knife) and the tentacles were falling off.

    New Anemone

The anemone died ... hiding behind a rock :( . Our flower pot coral is doing beautifully though.

    New Anemone

Our Anemone has made his way to the back of the tank, on the sand bed, behind some LR ... so I'm not too worried about running out to do that right this second :-) But tomorrow morning for sure.

    New Anemone

We bought a "flower pot" coral at our LFS recently ... and added it at the same time we did the Anemone ... and we've noticed something odd ... can anyone give us some idea of what it is? Both the Anemone and the coral seem to secrete a brownish fluid once in a while. Not a lot, but I've seen...

    New Anemone

The intake for our filter has a fish guard screen thing on the end of the tube, and our overflow has a fish guard on it ... but, should I do something else to mark them off?

    New Anemone

We were just given an Anemone by my uncle's girlfriend for the holidays, and when we put him in the tank, and set him on the rock, he attaches, and then when we restart the pumps and such, he goes flying around the tank ... How do we attach him to a rock? or ... what do we do? Thanks in advance!

    Tank Mates

The damsels we've got are small ... exactly the same size as the clowns we've got, actually. Size wise, the BG Chromis is the largest fish in the tank, at double the size of the clowns/damsels. Here's some pics: http://www.qhris.com/images/fish_pics/sw/Clowns_1.jpg...

    Tank Mates

I know that the size of your tank will completely dictate the stock you keep ... but is only 4 fish in a 30 GAL tank right? We've seen about 8/10 SMALL or 6/8 SMALL-MEDIUM fish in the tank. It just depends on the setup, I guess.

    Tank Mates

We've had a pair of Yellowtail Damsels since we completed our cycle in our 29 GAL. We've got approx 40 lbs of LR in the tank, and live sand substrate. (not that this all matters, right now ... but it will shortly when I start asking some other ?'s lol) So, we've got the 2 yellow tail damsels...

    Diatom Blooms

We've had this tank set up for almost 4 months now. The algae is a brownish in color, and will not just wipe off from the sides of the fish tank. I literally have to scrape with my finger nail to get it off the acrylic.

    Diatom Blooms

We've got algae blooms (diatom, brown in color) on the sides and front wall of our tank, and we can't get it off. Anyone have a tip or trick in using any sort of chemical, a natural method, or a way to scrape it off? The tank is a 29 gal acrylic. Also, how can we prevent algae blooms? Thanks...

    Protein Skimmers

We've followed the instructions on it, which stated to leave it running for an hour, then start adjusting it. It creates a foam, at the lowest setting, and overflows into the collection cup which fills up within 30 minutes. We've let it run for a few hours, just allowing it to overflow ... but...

    Protein Skimmers

We've got a ViaAqua SK-200 protein skimmer in a 30 gal. tank ... and we can't seem to get it to work right, and the lfs isn't any help either. We're thinking of selling off our VA skimmer to someone who knows how to work it, and buying a CPR Bak Pak 2R or a CPR SR2 skimmer ... anyones...
