I decided to upgrade to a custom 18x18x18 inch 25g tank and stick with tropical community for now. Gonna make an attempt to aquascape it and try my luck with bamboo shrimp.

It doesn't necessarily have to be cichlids, I was just considering them as a possibility if there were those small enough to fit comfortably in that small of a tank. The tank is on my wife's desk and she is wanting a small shoal of fish to replace the betta. I may end up going with a group of...
Hey all, I have an Aqueon 15g tall that currently houses a betta. I was thinking of moving her to a little 5g hex and putting a few cichlids in the 15g instead, however I'm not very familiar with them and would like some advice. Are there small cichlids that I could get say 3-5 of that would...
As much as I love loaches, I would have to strongly recommend against them in your current tank. The botia's especially will seek and destroy all of your shrimp. I would recommend a single angel fish. Lots of different color patterns to pick from and all around a cool looking fish.
Just a heads up regarding the Clown Pleco. From my own experience as well as reading online, they are very reclusive. I rarely ever see mine save the occasional time he pokes his big head out the door of my little "Loach Motel" castle.
Yeah they do seem to lose a lot of their coloring as adults, similar to the kubotai. Thanks for the heads up. Maybe I'll look into the Panda Garra instead, I've seen them around in a LFS.
I would really like to find some of these awesome looking loaches but haven't really seen them for sale here in the U.S. Anyone out there know where to find them?
Mine are voracious eaters as well but I haven't had any problems with them stealing all the food. My big, slow angels certainly have no issues getting plenty of food at feeding time.

My local Petsmart carries it in the medium sized bottle. I got tired of running out so I just bought a gallon jug off of Amazon.
+1 on Dr. Foster and Smith also being a good place to order it.
Day 2 of heat treatment. Tank is fluctuating from 86.0° to 86.9° and the fish are showing improvement. Noticeably fewer ich spots on them and most of the fish look fairly lively.
OP - how is your tank doing?
Well...tank is now at 86.7°. My poor peacock eel still looks sluggish, the others are looking okay so far. Really hope they can all withstand these temps for a week..
I've had 5 Australian and 2 Madagascar Rainbows in my community tank for a long time and have never had any issues.

Your faucet should have one, it's probably just screwed on really tight. Mine was and required a wrench to loosen the first time.
