I have a few blue legged hermits as well and I have been having a dissappearing snail problem. I couldn't figure it out at first but I believe I have found the culpret. I didn't think it was my hermits because I have watched them crawl right over my snails and never even attempt to eat them...

Does it react to touch? Is there a visible tube? I can't really tell from the pic. but my feather dusters tend to come out more when the light is on. I do have one who is out almost all the time but majority seem to only come out with the light. This could be a coincidence though.

I agree with cmor1701d, get a refractometer if you can. I just got one and found out my tank was way off. I am so glad I spent the extra money and finally got one.

I had never even heard of dyed fish until now. That's so sad, I can't believe people really do that. I won't be buying from stores that carry them either.
