Updated original post with panda cory's. Looks even better now as far as stocking/filtration % goes. Panda's are very likely what I'd go with.

I was a little unsure with the cory options given on aqadvisor, but the cory's I'd be getting would definitely be the smaller ones like the panda's/peppered. Thanks for the input :thumb:

I'm putting together a 20 gallon long glofish aquarium and am using aqadvisor for stocking. I'm running an aquaclear 70 (300 gph) filter for it. I was thinking of going for about 6-8 danios and 6-8 tetras..but according to aqadvisor it says I'd be safe with 8 danios, 8 tetras, AND 6 cory's...

I'll probably have a picture of the full tank tomorrow, they're starting to get very comfortable swimming around and not worrying about me or the lights anymore. Should be able to get a good one.

Sounds like a plan. The 3 I have right now are getting along beautifully. They stick together when they decide to go explore the aquarium. The shoal of cardinals are on the opposite end dodging the discus together :lol:.

Thanks, I appreciate the advice! I am definitely aiming for a total of 6 of the discus. If that is the case maybe I will add the 3 others together in a couple weeks. I just want to see how these adjust, but so far they're doing great. I was thinking 1 at a time to let the bioload increase...

Thanks! Still trying to get the full tank shot. They're already much less shy and starting to explore the entire aquarium so I should be able to get a good one pretty soon. Will post it when I do! :thumb:

Finally was able to get some photos! They're not the best in the world, and these fish are even more beautiful in person of course. Aside from that, they are still getting used to the environment so I'm sure they'll brighten up even more. Either way...here are the ones I was able to get..will...

So I've been trying to get a good picture of the fish I got but the little buggers are still too shy. Any time I'm around they go and hide behind the plants. As soon as I layed down last night and turned the lights out I could see them swimming around and exploring the tank. I'll keep trying and...

I just got back from the LFS...so I had been considering a different stocking option for quite some time now. I ended up going a different route than the angels. I've got great quality water here and I felt the time was right to go for it. Will post pictures of what I ended up going with...

Thanks all for the responses! Those pictures posted above of the rainbowfish have convinced me to get a couple! I'm actually going to head off to the LFS right now and start my stocking. Keep the ideas coming though please! I'll be back to the store for some more tomorrow I'm sure.

That's funny you mention the rainbows...I was just looking into them and the Boesemani Rainbows really caught my attention. Only thing that is kind of holding me back from definitely picking up a couple is the difference in KH preference. My water's perfect for angels (about 3-5) and I saw that...

Thanks for the input! I've seen plenty of instances where cardinal tetras are fine with angels. Neons probably not, but cardinals can work. Might lose one every once in a great while but I do believe it'll be fine.

Thanks for the response. I'm feeding them twice daily and they always seem very hungry and will eat up everything I put in there. I read that overfeeding was more likely than underfeeding so I'm not giving them too much with each meal...but it would be nice to know how much to give them each...

I've got a couple of platies so far and they're very happy and healthy. One thing I'm curious about is how much I should be feeding them. Everywhere I read says to feed them what they can eat in a minute or two, twice daily. Well here's what's throwing me off...my platies wait until the flakes...

I got a Jebo dual fan at the LFS yesterday and it works really good for my 20 tall. I saw the temp go up to 85 yesterday at the hottest point before picking this up...now it stays at a consistent 79-80...stays in the safe zone on the thermometer finally. :D

Well I'm living in California right now, and it's pretty hot out here...my room temperature seems to be even worse. I'm looking into getting a fan that blows on the surface of the water but really want to keep the lid on in fear of any jumpers. Are there any fans out there that allow this? Or...
