Can manila rope be used safely?

Friends keep telling me to get one of those $100 Kerup things. My 10 year old $12 Mr Coffee works just fine.

Can manila rope be used safely?

And for tea bags, it's prolly fine. It's not like we have to live in a glass box with a 47 foot tall tea bag. We might not be as fond of tea.

Can manila rope be used safely?

Here's the one tank: Next to it is a tank for 2 sliders: I know krylon is safe for tanks once cured, but to get these platforms in the tanks takes quite a bit of "tweeking". I highly doubt the spray paint is *that* durable. Hence the wrapping it in rope stuck to the legs...

Can manila rope be used safely?

I've been working on 2 turtle tank builds. Been making a lot of the pieces out of pvc because it's fairly cheap, if ya mess up. All corners/joiners are reusable, as long as you don't cement it. But...it's pretty ugly. I was going to aquarium silicone the "legs" and wrap them in rustic...

    Terrapin tank

Ok, here's an update. This was written for a completely non-aquarium/aquatics, etc forum....at all. It's concise. I don't want to re-write it. Been up to my arm pits in tanks all day. Literally. Well worth it, though. Zen....with pruned hands and fingers....and arms. I will edit it...

Can manila rope be used safely?

Can manila rope be used safely in an aquarium? I was going to use it to wrap PVC pipe for turtle platforms. It says it's "all natural".....but will it do anything weird while submerged?

    Hello

Thanks! Today I began the process of stocking the tanks. The 2 turtle tanks won't have much in them, but I did add a little, though I know their days might be numbered. 3 aquatic frogs, 2 are albino 6 something or 'nother loaches (look like striped snake/eel things) 3 dozen...

    Terrapin tank

On youtube, as well...there are videos of people who made actual wooden toppers for the tanks for the basking areas. I didn't watch many, as that wasn't what I was trying to do. But that might be a good next step alternative for you.

    Terrapin tank

Are they water turtles? If so, I'd fill that tank up to almost full, and make a basking top for them. It'll give them much more room to swim and you won't have to replace the tank right away. The materials I used were PVC plastic pipes....like for sprinkler systems. The platforms are "egg...

    Terrapin tank

Here's my introduction: http://www.aquariumadvice.com/forums/f59/hello-317097.html ...and here's a better pic of the actual tier set up I am working on for the box's tank: No, that isn't the turtle in the background, it's a fake turtle shell that I hope to replace the shoe box...

    Terrapin tank

The attachment won't open. Could you try to post it again, please? Finding interesting ways to make turtle tanks is not easily found on the internet. Lots of people have ponds, etc...but that's just not feasible for me to do. I am working on pvc platforms. I ran into a design flaw when...

    Terrapin tank

Can you post a picture of their tank now? I am in the process of revamping a 125 gal tank for 2 sliders and a 75 gal tank for a box turtle. For the box, I wanted to give as much "floor" space as possible. I am making tiers and ramps to do this.

    Hello

I gather that it's general protocol around here to introduce oneself. I am in the middle of doing a total tank refurb on a 125 gallon turtle tank while adding a 75 gallon tank and a 29 gallon tank to the livingroom. The 125 gal tank has 2 red eared sliders, one I have had for 10+ years...
