Ottos do better in groups and are not the most hardy of fish. Merited snails are nice for algae and are interesting. Nerite snails.

I think you are doing everything you can for your fish and you should feel proud of that. Honestly I have never had a fish live for very long after it once becomes sick but do all you can and see what happens. Keep us posted.

I agree 2 dwarf gourami in a tank is not a good idea. Pearls or honey gourami will usually be ok but not dwarf ones.

Ok I don't know your situation so look up ich treatments. Raising temp to 86 usually will cure ich without meds. But I think you are not supposed to do both, meds and raising temp. But since the ich is getting worse you might consider changing what you are doing. Good luck. Raising temp to 86...
