    Betta in a Nano Cube

If you want to have bettas in 12 gallons I would reccommend females. If it's heavily planted (or decorated) then 5 or 6 should do well. If you do end up getting females get spawn siblings if you can as they usually get along much better than non siblings.

    my betta

I'm sure Leo (will) love(s) his new tank! I have about 40 bettas (soon to be more) and all of them love having 5 gallons! (Except for the 5 females in the 10 gallon) What kind of bloodworms are you feeding him? (frozen or freeze dried?) Good luck with him. When fish are put in good sized...

    55 Gallon

I thought that angels needed a lower pH. I'm considering African cichlids. :D

    55 Gallon

Ok. I know about alot of fish and their needs. The problem is that I'm not sure what kind I should get as I don't have personal experience with them. Are there any fish that you personally like or would stock a 55 gallon with?

    55 Gallon

I am stocking and aquascaping a 55 gallon tank. I've fishless cycled it and the substrate is sand. It has filter, heater, and lighting. I also have a large piece of driftwood that I can use but other than that I have nothing. I can't decide what type of tank to have. I can't keep fish that...

    Compatibility?

I'm helping my mom start up a tank in her office. We've already established that she is going to have a betta. My question is: Are bettas and platies compatible? I know alot about bettas and have around 20 of them but don't keep other fish with my bettas. I was wondering if anyone else had and...

    Female Guppies Dying

I recently set up my 20 long tank for my guppies in the winter. (they live in a pond in the summer) A female guppy that we got in a pair in a lfs died within a week. A few days later she was followed by the male who came with her, then by a female that I had bred. I was away for the weekend...

I already have a stand for it. (Piece of furniture that will hold it)

    Female Betta Tank

Yesterday, as a combo b-day and x-mas present my family gave me a $250 petsmart giftcard. With it I want to start a female betta tank. What I'm not sure about is the size of this tank. The $250 needs to cover just about everything that goes into the tank along with the tank and most of the...

    Weird Symptoms

First is is a he, not a her. Second, I would doubt that he would provide anything but great conditions for his bettas. He has been in the hobby (specifically bettas) for over 20 years and is a breeder (not professional but a breeder nonetheless) and very knowledgeable when it comes to this...

    Weird Symptoms

This is a quote from a user on another forum. So far we have not been able to identify the disease so I thought I'd see if someone here could. Any idea what this could be?

    Some Suicidal Ghost Shrimp

I've also had suicidal ghost shrimp. One kept trying to jump out of the bag on the way home and as soon as he went into the guppy pond she jumped out. I'm not sure why. Another was one that I was transporting to another tank and I was out on the patio and it jumped out. I have wood as the...

Sati, where do you get your fish? I just moved to Seattle and haven't found any good lfs yet.

    The guilt is overwhelming!!!

I have some friends who used to have 2 cows. Then one day the husband decided to kill them because he wanted to see what the meat was like (same thing like the chicken only he killed both cows that they had) When he cooked the steak for dinner he asked her whether she wanted Steve or Fred. She...

Couldn't Stand To Leave Him In the Cup. . .

5 gallon. Oh, and there's a snail with him. But It's just 1 tiny snail (literally, about as big as the following smile :) ) I'm culturing (is that the correct term for it) some gravel in a different, 3 cup container. It goes much faster. It's now reached the ammonia spike in there within the...

Couldn't Stand To Leave Him In the Cup. . .

ok, but I posted because I'm worried about the fish. It's not a fishless cycle (unfortunate circumstances but I didn't want my betta in a cup for a month) so I need a timeline for that. I'm not adding ammonia and the water keeps saying 0. Occasionally it will go to 0.1 but the next time I test...

    Guppy fry!!!!!

Yeah, I wouldn't worry about guppy population in your tank. You might (most likely not) have 1 survivor out of several of the once a month(for me anyways) drops that the females do. Do you have 2 females?

    Puffers Puffers and more Puffers

I'd get dwarf puffers. I heard 1 for 5 gallons though. So couldn't you only keep 2? Oh well, dwarf puffers don't need their beaks trimmed. The way you trim it is by giing it thing like snails. The shell trims the beak. Dwarf puffers are really cool. I'd get them. :)

Couldn't Stand To Leave Him In the Cup. . .

I got this poor little betta at my lfs. He looked so sad and beat up. The problem was that I just couldn't stand to keep him in that tiny cup. . . I put him directly into his tank (I know, Not the best thing. . . But he couldn't stay ina cup while I fishless cycled) But I had to go to San Diego...

    Stocking 20g...dwarf chiclid?

I do agree. You can't just get 1 cory. It's like just getting 1 tetra. Get more cories. The more the merrier. I think that getting more cories should be your first priority. You need to meet the needs of your current fish before adding new ones. But that's just my humble opinion.

    Stocking 20g...dwarf chiclid?

and although to some people tanks look empty, they're really full. People want a clown fish to only need 1 gallon, but if a clownfish was in its natural habitat it would have so much more than you could ever provide. I have a betta alone ina 10 gallon but she uses all of the swimming space and...
