I did bring in a sample of water to my fish store the nitrates were fine. It was the end of nitrate testing drops which were giving me the nitrate reading thankfully. I picked up a new testing kit. Sent from my iPad using Aquarium Advice

I agree with the above; until we were comfortable with our water, we did w/c every 2-3, then weekly. After w/c and testing you are comfortable you have the best atmosphere your fish can be happy in.

Thank you, I did a water change yesterday, and my pH still seems to be in in 7.4 range. My discus are struggling. I can't seem to bring down the pH in the tank. Do you have any suggestions regarding the pH change?

Awesome information This is great information, however when doing a water change and the pH is high in the tank water and tap water, do you treat the tap water the bring the pH lower. Please let me know

I totally agree, my electric went up $100 also. Unfortunately there are tiers to the electric bill and once we pass a certain tier, additional charges occurred. I have a beautiful tank and will have to try to cut back in other areas in the home. Bummer. Sent from my iPad using Aquarium...
