I had a crayfish with a similar problem. What I did was give my crayfish a saline bath for about 30 seconds to a minute (using the aquarium salt they sell at the stores to treat illness) they"ll die and fall off or just die in their place if they are too attached

yeah the heat will transfer over easily since glass is a bad conductor of heat anyway.what are you going to do about the filtration for both sides though?
Sorry about that I mixed up diatoms with regular algae for a sec.But lighting does affect them it's actually low lighting that benefits them not high lighting. However extra nutrients for them will cause them to have an outbreak namely phosphate and silicates.

The reason they didn't eat a lot of the anacharis is probably because anacharis is allelopathic, meaning that they release a kind of toxin that inhibit the growth of other plants (mainly algae). Don't worry though the toxin in general wont affect your rams

Do water changes more often to keep the water healthier for your fry(and this will promote better rapid growth)but keep the new water parameters as close as you can to the original waters tank.

Could be an excess of nutrients and too much light in that particular tank. That's what usually causes algae outbreaks

RCC's sometimes stay out of the water for a while (especially if they can stay moist) so it won't be too likely that it will die bit you should leave it alone until it's fully recovered

Here's another pic I got of the biggest white ram of the group.
I have about three of them(maybe a few more)from what I can tell. I'll try breeding them and seeing if the trait can be passed on. If I'm successfull I would love to give some out to you guys as celebration. Wish me luck!
White ramshorn
Apparently there is a variant of ramshorn snail with White shells and yellowish bodies. I had a few of these guys pop up out of my red ramshorn colony. I wonder if this trait can be breeded successfully or it's just a random genetic glitch.
