I had cyano a couple of months ago and since I didn't have any coral or anything, I just left the lights off for about a week. After the week was up, the lights turned on and the cyano was gone. I haven't seen any signs of it since! HTH Good luck fighting it.

hehe it's great to hear other stories! Crazy cats... my cat definitely learned her lesson. She hasn't even come into the room where my tank is! =) Gotta love the felines. :D

hehe "the man" sure did. I feel so blessed! :) Its doing well, I haven't seen any more flashing today or yesterday. Its color is getting more vibrant everyday (looks better than when I first purchased it), and seems very happy.

I'm having the same problem on my laptop. Ever since I had zonealarm, I can't view some pictures on aa and other sites. Don't know why this is going on, I have zone alarm on my other computer and it works fine. Computers are just crazy. :D

If you don't want to take down all of your rockwork... You can use a DIY fishtrap using an inverted 2 litre bottle, which works wonders (be patient with this), or if that doesn't work, you can grab a couple of friends and some nets and see if you can't get them that way... I prefer the bottle...

Thanks. I just went on ebay to see if they have any good deals on refractometers and they have some w/no reserve that seem like they'll do the job. If I can get a good deal on one, I'll get one or maybe more and see if I can't help out some others on AA that need refractometers for a low price...

Thanks Steve! Yea I check the tank for evap several times a day. I have the QT marked on the side so I can tell how much evaporated.. I'm using a high precision hydrometer, is that okay?... I don't have the money for a refractometer at the moment, but I hope to give myself one for Christmas...

My tang has been under hypo in a QT for about a week. (sg 1.009, trates 2ppm, trites 0, ammonia 0, ph 8.2, temp ~ 81) It had a lot of white spots on it which turned black then fell off the 2nd day. When the tang was in the main, it never flashed, but having been a week, it just started to...
