Hello all, it's been a minute since I posted here, so I thought I'd share what I've been up to.
I decided at the end of last year that I would scape my rather drab 29 gallon tank. At the time I had just lost my angelfish and I decided it was time for a change.
This is the Tank back then...
Always wanted these fish! My 29 gallon tank is a little too small though lol.
These or pearl gourami's would be great with your idea of rasbora's and kuhli's
Based on this stocking plan, I'm with the person that suggested pearl gourami's. Beautiful and peaceful fish to my understanding. Might get some myself soon!
I like what you've got going on! I've never kept most of these species so I'm no help there. But I bought flourish root tabs on amazon at less than $8 for a 10 pack last week. Just thought I'd share that tidbit. I'll be following!
Hello all! I'm looking for some advice on whether or not to go to the aquatic experience in Schaumburg IL in 2 weeks. This would be a long drive for me to attend the event and I could only go on Friday.
That said, I'll be ready to plant my new 10 gallon tank around the time of the show and if...
It could depend on your fitration and water change schedule. Check out aqadvisor.com. You can go on there and plug in your tanks info and it will give you some info as to how it should work
Just my two cents. I know that you kinda glazed over dwarf cichlids, but Bolivian rams are relatively peaceful and would look gorgeous in your set up.
Maybe
2 rams
10-12 rummy nose tetra
Bn pleco
Just a thought
Generally overstocked. I was just using the cories vs pleco as an example.
I would suggest using aqadvisor.com. It's very helpful for stocking your tank
No real help on stocking (with the exception of thinking a m/f pair of pearl gourami would look cool as far as fish go.) but just wanted to say I think it looks great and I'll be following.
Having done further research it seems I was reading an incorrect article when I found that Hastifolia dies submerged.
That said, I contacted LiveAquaria and explained the problem and they refunded me for the Congensis.
So, all is well! I suppose I'll just grow Hastifolia instead lol.
Hey guys, I just received an order from live aquaria. I ordered an ozelot sword (got 2, very pleased!) and an Anubias congensis.
But upon opening I saw this leaf
Which looks to me like Hastifolia.
But also, on the same plant I saw a leave or two that looks like Congensis
So which is this...
Just curious about which algae eaters you guys would suggest for a tank with an angelfish. It is a 29 gallon tank that also contains Anubias, Java Fern, and an Amazon Sword. As well as a guppy and some Rainbowfish I'm growing out.
The only species I know I don't want is otocinclus because of...
Thinking about adding some snails to my 29 gallon tank. Probably nerites.
I have never owned snails before but from the research I've done they seem like they'd be okay in my tank.
Any thoughts AA?
Edit: I should mention that my 29 houses an Angelfish and 4 Turquoise Rainbowfish that are...
Also thought I ought to mention my stocking plans for the 55.
1 Angel (already own)
8 turquoise rainbows (own 4)
10 Pygmy cories (yet to purchase)
Cleithracara Maronii (Keyhole Cichlid) pair or Thorichthys Meeki (Firemouth Cichlid pair. (Yet to purchase)
Would love to hear from people who...
Thank you for the response! Very helpful stuff!
The more I think about it, the more I agree with you on the firemouths appreciating more space. So I think I'll steer away from those and look for a different species to focus on in that tank.
The Finnex 24/7 plus is a very impressive fixture...
