Hi I'm not sure what other people here on this site does.
Once a week i vacume what I see. For me once a month I take out the decorations and my fake plants. And vacume underneath. Or sometimes I just move it to off to the side and again vacume and place it back. I like to rearrange things...
Api also asks you to replace the sponge in the filter every 2 months. You were stateing that while you were rinsing the sponges that they had oozed out muck. It might help as well. It would be interesting to check your water too.

How long has your tank been set up? Do you have your permitters? A way of testing your water? How often between water changes?do you have an algae boom?

I think I'll have to. Water changes with switching the up the tank didn't help much. The aggression is an off again on again kind of thing. I've noticed a lot of stress. I've also witness one hiding behind a rock while the aggressive male is above him.
It's kind of a bummer. Reading and...
The aggression has decreased but they still chase all of the fish on the other side if the tank. You would think 150 g is enough to live peacefully with.( I only have like 15 fish in it)
Im switching things around after a wc to see if it helps. If not I just might buy another tank. Thanks for...
My very peaceful tank has had changes in the community.

Yup that's how my husband made it. If you do go with that route make sure that you use stainless steel hinges and screws. Plexi glass is ok but Lexi glass is more dense we measured and them cut it. It works well for us lighter too for me easier to clean.( for some reason, I break things easy)...
My husband made a lid for me out of Lexi glass. We bought from lowes. He even put handles on for me. The lights sit nicely on top.I love it!! And no fishies can jump out of it.
