Yesterday I was at a friends house and saw a this guy!! It's 6-7" long.
He had received it from a friend who shut down a tank. He has no idea what it's called, plus he speaks very little English. He just called it a sucker fish.

I also have a male and female DG. They were together in a 55g and the male was always nipping at her to the point she lost half a "whisker" thing. It has since grown back but I have had to separate them because it was getting way too aggressive.
If they will be staying together I would suggest...
Cleaning it.. First I sprayed it down with hot water trying to blast out all the mud and dirt in the holes.
The smaller pieces that would fit into my big pot were boiled for about 20mins, the couple larger ones went into a big bucket and I added hot water and let them sit for a couple days...
I had great success with assassin snails.. In my 10g there was around 100 pond snails and increasing like crazy. I added two assassin snails about a month ago and the only pond snails left are in the filter, and a lot of empty shells across the substrate.
I'd suggest adding 10 assassins, within...
I have taken your advice and also done much more reading into the temperature range for cockatoos. I've come to the conclusion that they are happy at 80f.
The 86f is definitely the high end that their pools reach for a few weeks in the summer. Definitely not to be maintain year round.

If you want to try and raise the eggs, separate them to another tank and dose with pimafix. It is an antifungal med

I have a 5 gallon tank that I did a fish less cycle on. It's been done for a couple weeks now and I'm just waiting for my rams to lay agains again to collect, question is... Should I keep dosing it to 4ppm every day or two to keep the cycle going or would adding some cherry shrimp be okay and...
I have two gbrs(m/f) with four double full red cockatoo apistos (1m/3f) in a 55G, so it's 4' long. My rams definitely dominate half of the tank, and won't let them over to their side but there are a lot of caves for the apistos to go into that the Rams don't fit. The Rams can go on to the...
I used some type of aquarium oil thing... Looked like vegetable oil. Smear that across your background and place on your tank. Then I used a plastic trowel to press all the air bubbles out.
Mine looked ugly just taped on, you could see the air bubbles all over

Cheers!!
I would go with a black tubing and find a paint to blend it in with your background. Maybe white or a light metallic grey

Sorry to hear about the Rams. I have a similar set up to yours. My rams are in the middle of spawning right now actually. My first couple spawns the eggs were eaten by my apistos in the tank. This round I am moving the eggs to a separate tank to raise by hand. For an anti fungus I will be using...
I would say yes!

Lol that's so true. I just added some assassins to my take with a pond snail problem... Within 2 days I've started seeing empty shells around the bottom of the tank :D

Thanks for all the advice everyone. I finally changed from my aquarium gravel to pool filter sand. (Nephaline syenite) Taking the fish out was BY FAR the right choice. I couldn't imagine doing it any other way.
I moved the fish to a large Rubbermaid container and hooked up the filter and...
