    Oxygen problem in cycled tank?

I wouldn't touch the filters yet. Once cycling is finished I usally just rise the filter is disguarded tank water once a month during a PWC.

    Newbie finding it hard

Seed water really doesn't help much. You need to get some seeded filter media or gravel. I am helping a co-worker set up his tank now and he wanted to do a fish in cycle. He is currently doing a 50% water change twice a day. You will need to do something similar to keep the ammonia below .25 ppm.

    Just starting

First Welcome to AA! Second you can still cycle your tank with the fish in it. Just do not add the ammonia your fish will provide this for you. I cycle all of my tanks with fish. I know this is very unpopular with this forum, but its just how I have always done it. What you will need to do is...

    Please Help --- High Ammonia

I would lose the carbon. Its not doig much to help you. Carbon is only effective for removing meds from the tank and such and is only good for about 5 days.

    how to net fish?

Tyler I know nets can tear up your fish however, chasing them around the tank and stressing them out isnt much better. I also dont like using nets so I have a small plastic container i put into the tank and use the other net to move them into the container.

    how to net fish?

Use two nets. One as a chase net the other as the catch net. Or use one net and a small rubbermaid container. Good luck

In wall aquarium - What do you think?

Common problems with in wall tanks are they are hard to clean and do maintenance. Also with it being behind your bar it will be in a high traffic area and many fish will become stressed. So I am not saying don't do it. I just saying take some time and do more research and planning.

    Situation Update...Thoughts are Welcome

You are correct! I am pretty sure I can speak for the majority of the members here. We would like to see you keep the chemicals on the outside of the tank. It's going to take some work but I believe you can do it.

    Situation Update...Thoughts are Welcome

Your tank will eventually cycle it just takes time. I read your other post on your water change dilemma. I highly recommend a python... however, since you don't want a python I have a second suggestion for you. Currently I am in Okinawa, Japan and the LFS here have gravel vacs with a self...

Ugh, dead discus :'( What is wrong with my tank?

Do you have a QT tank? I have a 10 gal tank I keep inside the stand on my 29 gal tank that I use to QT all new fish for at least a month before I add them to my other tanks. I also use this as a hospital tank for sick fish.

    Situation Update...Thoughts are Welcome

Osage has your tank fully cycled? If not I would discontinue use of the chemicals. If your tank has fully cycled and you just had a spike and needed to save the fish I see no problem with this as long as you don't make it a habit to replace PWC. The only reason a lot of people are against...

Ugh, dead discus :'( What is wrong with my tank?

GBR and Discus are very delicate fish. If the Ph or temp of the water changes a bit it can cause death. The Ph in your tank does look a bit high for discus. If you going to try again I recommend adding peat to your filter or using RO water and adding minerals to it.

    Inconsistently cloudy water

Your tank is still new and the water is safe for the fish so I would just give it sometime and keep up with the maintenance.

    Inconsistently cloudy water

What are your water parameters. It could just be a BB bloom since you just added fish and have been cleaning the filter media. If nothing else works try adding filter floss.

    Cloudy Water

The carbon is only good for removing medicine from the water. It is only good for about a week and then becomes useless. Your tank would benefit more with another sponge or filter floss.

    Need suggestions for tank upgrade

You could also get a 37 gal tank. It is the same footprint just much taller. I have one and I love it. It is great for a community fish tank where you chose fish that live in a bottom, middle, and top strata of the tank.
