I wouldn't say you are starting over, and I don't think you need 3 - 4 ppm. 2-3 should be enough to cycle it. My cycle took almost 5 weeks with seeded filter material. If you're starting from scratch it could really just be taking that long. If you are seeing bb (nitrates) then you are likely...

My dwarf sag has grown out of the tank in a matter of a little over a week. I dose excel daily, flourish 1x/week, then iron and potassium every other day as needed.

I just met up with a fellow AA member and picked up the RCS, and endler fry. they are so so cute. They are drip acclimating now. I have a hospital tank set up (waiting for it to instant-cycle) in the event that I need it. These little guys are so cute.
