    Cycling a saltwater aquarium.

    u can cycle an aquarium quicker usung established rock, sand, and filter media. some fish stores with have live rock and used filtration media to help kickstart the cycle process. u will still have to test water levels to make sure the cycle has still completed before adding fish.

    well we do have a hermit crab and the dragon wrasse that wont let anything hit the bottom of the tank....haha also a mantis shrimp thats elusive, but not doing any damage @ the moment

    What's the worst aquarium mistake you've made?

    My biggest blunder was unknowingly knockin a roll of sticky tape into a 8ft tank with some very large and very loved fish.... two days later the tank was white and most of the fish dieing... Very sad

    Yeah black is the go... the fish really try and blend in with colouful backgrounds... Solid colours and the fish really stand out.

    Phosphates are only one part of the equasion.... plants need more than that to survive, and like us need a good balance of nutrients for great health.

    Phosphates are common in sydney water.... Not to mention because of the low water levels in the dam they are double dosing chlorines... to kill of the cryptospiridium and Blue green...

    8 FT Community tank

    I'm in the process of an exchange program for the rainbows... I'll get 20 juviniles and grow them up to colour and then swap them for some more juvi' keeping the best stock from the adults. Those wil go into breeding setups... And hopefully make some $$$$:)
