Hello! I have a 20 gallon tank I am currently setting up/preparing for 6 Panda Corydoras, and 4 Green Lantern Platies, I have a bundle of different plants including water sprites, amazon swords, etc. etc. I was curious if there were any other good tankmates to add? I was thinking standard assorted Mollies, but I know they can be aggressive if the tank is overcrowded, from the research I have done it seems like it would be okay, but I wanted some advice from people who know more about these fish (and fish in general) before I commit to anything and they end up unhappy.

And if Mollies wouldn't be a good fit, is there any other fish that might be? I was originally looking at snails - but I figure the cory's would eat them up lol. And if you have any advice for me about the pandas or platies please feel free to drop a comment as well!

Okay, so you want to stick with middle level fish since your cories will be bottom and the platies more mid to upper levels. I'd forget about the mollies. There some Tetra species that are not active swimmers such as the Penguin Tetras, Embers and Glo-lite Tetras that would fit that bill. Since those are usually Florida farm bred fish, they should be used to your water more than their wild counterparts would be. (y)

I have a couple mollys, if you get a good amount with more females than males that should dilute aggression. Your tank seems fine for a small group. Be prepared to deal with fry though unless you get all females. I would also recamend guppy’s or endless but if you don’t want livebearers maybe some smaller tetra.

Awesome!! I will definetly be getting the ember tetras after doing a bit more research on them, thank you so much!

Ooo I will take this into consideration, for now I definetly agree on getting the smaller tetras, though mollies would definetly be fun to have in the future lol, thank you so much! :)

Yeah of course! Cardinal tetras are STUNNING as well as neon green tetras and other schooling fish I love are threadfin rainbows.
