I need lots of algae growth if I intent to rear herbivorous fishes, I kept the lights on for around 10 hours per day, but how do I see if there is algae? There doesn't seems to have any thing visible on the side glasses of the tank.

How long has your tank been setup for? It took a while for my tank to start showing much of an algae population...

As well as the above question wahat kind of lights do you have and how is the tank chemistry?

We are talking about growing macroalgae and not diatom or green "powdered" algaes right?

Cheers
Steve

skimmers do a lot to remove the nutrients most algaes need to thrive. Take that into consideration if you have a skimmer on your tank.
