I have this dark red/purple burgundy << like that color almost looking algae growing on my sand.. is this normal? there isnt much of it..
just wondering if its normal or if i should get rid of it with something?

It is probably cyano or diatoms if it's darker brown colored. They are not harmful to your tank and are usually caused by excess nutrients from overfeed etc.. and lack of waterflow I"m no expert but I also belive high levels of phosphate and silicia can cause this and the recommended method for helping to eliminate them is watching the amount of food that is given, or watching the amount of food that is not eaten and sinks to the bottom more importantly and cutting the lighting period in half. You can do a seach on here for it and find tons of info.
