Who ever would have thought...

My ammonia culprit is my ferrets! And the bubble wall.

Last night I tested my water, it was up to 2.0ppm! I was mad!

I went back into chat, asked around... Gordon suggested to turn off the bubble wall, so I did. This morning I tested and the ammonia is back to zero.

Before everyone saysto move one or the other, I can't. In a small apartment and a small bedroom, I cannot move either the ferrets or the tank.

So that is it! I am happy I finally found my ammonia source.

Oh wow! LOL Ever think of becoming a detective? Good sleuthing..don't think ANY of us would have come up with that LOL

Woo-hoo!! I am so glad that you finally know what's going on! It's been a nong few weeks for you! Congrats!

I had a problem with my fish getting poisoned when I painted my room. I found that a good solution was to keep the air pump half-buried in a tupperware full of kitty-litter. I imagine other VOC adsorbents like activated carbon would work well too. Just make sure that whatever air is getting pulled into the pump is drawn through the kitty litter first.

You could also try putting a bottle of water in-line with your air line, so that air is forcde to bubble through the water before going to the tank (kinda like a water bong :p ) You'd have to change the water every so often, but this should pull out any junk in your room air.

Good luck!

Oh yeah, you could clean the ferret cage more often! just a joke! :p

:( I clean my ferret cage constantly!

I feel like a poop slave. [You know, cleaning it all the time]

I know, it is horrible. I clean poop too much. I need a life :drinking:
